Nutreco's Gisis feed mill in Ecuador given BAP certification

 

Gisis, a Expalsa subsidiary which is 75% owned by Nutreco, has become the first feed mill in Ecuador to be awarded the Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification.

Based in Durán, the facility could now provide feed to shrimp and tilapia companies which qualify to offer products of four-star rating, the highest BAP standard.

Nutreco's acquisition of Gisis has solidified Skretting - the company's aquaculture feed business in South America - in production, sales and distribution of shrimp and tilapia feed in Ecuador, Honduras and Peru.
