Methionine prices weakens under pressure in China

Prices of methionine were stable to lower during the week ending September 6.

Usages of methionine in feed production were slow as feed millers were reluctant to increase output by a lot despite soaring egg price. Although Mid-Autumn Festival was around the corner, the demand for chicken and pork remained sluggish, hence dampening the confidence of feed producers.

For liquid methionine, price quotes slid to RMB23.50-24.50/kg.
