Russia exports US$15billion worth of food products in first half of 2021
In the first half of 2021, Russia supplied US$15 billion worth of food products to foreign markets, an 18% increase over the same period last year, according to data for the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries for the period of January-May 2021.
The volume of exports totaled 30 million tonnes.
This year, the country continues to steadily increase its production of agricultural products and foodstuffs, which allows it to not only meet domestic needs, but also to increase export potential.
Meat exports rose by 26% to US$499 million, dairy products by 25% to US$177 million and cereals by 19% to US$4.3 billion. Deliveries of food products increased by 5% and reached US$2 billion. Fish and seafood shipments also increased by 2.7% up to US$2.4 billion.
In total, in the first half of the year, domestic agro-industrial products were supplied to nearly 150 countries.
