US pork board appoints new CEO
The National Pork Board announced that Chris Novak would take over as chief executive officer (CEO), effective October 1, 2008.
Novak will replace Steve Murphy, who announced his resignation in January and who has continued to serve while the board searched for a replacement.
Novak has been the executive director of the Indiana Soy Alliance and Indiana's corn organisations. He headed the merger of two soy organisations and assisted in building partnerships between Indiana's soy, corn and livestock organisations. Novak has also worked to secure the passage of a new state corn checkoff.
