China's Heilongjiang Province to double hog and milk output in 5 years
    
 

China's Heilongjiang province announced a plan to more than double its output of hogs and milk in five years, the Farmers' Daily reported Friday ( September 5, 2008). 

 

The province aims to produce 10 million tonnes of milk in five years, up from 4.74 million tonnes in 2007, said the report.

 

The province also targets output of 50 million hogs by then, compared with 18.68 million last year, according to the paper.
