UK sees rising investments in pig housing

Confidence within the pig and poultry industries in the UK are returning as indicated by the rise in investments in animal housing, according to Staffordshire-based livestock buildings specialists, ARM Buildings.

The company said it saw a 20-percent increase in orders across both sectors for the first six months of this year.

Growth in the organic layer sector was responsible for the rise in poultry housing investments whereas for pigs, demand was mainly for grower and finishing houses.

The rising strength of the Euro also made imported animal housing more expensive relative to the UK.
