Belarus exceeds last year's grain production
Current grain production in Belarus surpasses the last year harvest by one million tonnes, according to Mikhail Rusyi, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus.
Farmers have produced eight million tonnes of grains.
To date, farmers plan to start the corn harvesting campaign and produce 1.5 million tonnes of the grain. Food security will be ensured, the country will not need to import grains, with the exception of 5,000-6,000 tonnes of hard grains, said M.Rusyi.
Last year, Belarus imported 7,000 tonnes of milling grains and 30,000 tonnes of feed grains for poultry.
