Ukraine's meat output falls on-month
Ukraine's July meat production in live weight shrank by 6.1% or 13,100 tonnes to 201,800 tonnes, compared with June, the State Statistics Service said.
Production of meat by private farms went down by 5.7% or 4,300 tonnes in July, compared with June, to 71,200 tonnes. Specialised farms reduced meat production by 6.3% or 8,800 tonnes to 130,600 tonnes.
In July 2011, meat production shrank by 1.3% or 2,700 tonnes compared with July 2010.
In January-July 2011, comparing with January-July 2010, meat production increased by 5.3% or 83,000 tonnes and made up 1,653,900 tonnes.
Earlier in June, the production of meat in live weight grew by 4.4% or 9,100 tonnes to 214,900 tonnes, compared with May.
In 2010, meat production went up by 6.7% or 184,500 tonnes to 2.923 million tonnes, compared with 2009.
