Azerbaijani intends to import Kazakh grain

 

 

Although Azerbaijan has a good grain crop this year, it is planning to ship in grain from Kazakhstan.

 

Ambassador Serik Primbetov said on Friday (Aug 26) that the issue of purchasing grain from Azerbaijan this year is under consideration.

 

Under his data in 2010, Azerbaijan purchased 960,000 tonnes of Kazakh grain. Till July 1, 2011, Azerbaijan had zero tax duties and VAT exemption for grain import.

 

According to the ambassador in 2010, trade turnover between the countries totalled US$444 million of which US$342 million fell on the share of export from Kazakhstan and US$102 million on the import of Azerbaijani goods to Kazakhstan.
