Cargill loses lawsuit claim against ex-employees

Cargill suffered a decisive defeat in a lawsuit against its ex-employees who set up their own dairy nutrition and management consulting business.

According to World Dairy Diary, all charges brought against the dairy nutrition company Progressive Dairy Solutions Inc. by Cargill, have been dropped by a federal court jury.

Cargill accused the employees of misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract, and fraud, claiming US$10.2 million

The trial in the US District Court lasted three weeks.

The jury returned a unanimous verdict, rejecting every claim brought by Cargill, and deciding that Cargill's claims against the ex-employees was "objectively specious", which was defined by the Court as completely lacking in any evidentiary support.
