Dutch poultry farm to shut down on environmental concerns
One of the Netherlands' largest poultry farms has to close down before September 1, 2008, due to environmental concerns.
The farm, which houses 200,000 birds, does not have an environmental permit to do business and is emitting foul odour.
The local authority of Groesbeek, where the farm is located, will receive a penalty of EUR 35,000 (US$51,588) if the farm fails to close before September 1.
