Israel's largest food company to enter alternative meat market
Israel's largest food company, Tnuva, is planning to enter the alternative meat market by partnering a British farm company, Israel Hayom reported.
Leeds-based Meatless Farm was reported to supply Tnuva with plant-based hamburgers, sausages, and minced meat.
Meatless Farm is a key player in the United Kingdom's alternative meat market and has over the past year started exporting its products to countries including the United States, Canada and Sweden.
Demand for alternative meat products in Israel has been rising in recent years, driven by health and environmental concerns.
Tnuva's top competitor in Israel is Diplomat, which imports alternative meat products from Beyond Meat.
Israel is considered a leader in the alternative meat market, including both plant-based culinary innovations and cell-based meat.
