Ukraine's July pig count up 0.4%
As of August 1, the July pig population of Ukraine rose by 0.4% or 33,300 heads compared with June, to 8.088 million heads, the country's State Statistics Service has reported.
Pig population increased by 0.2% or 8,000 heads compared to June, to 4,592,7 heads in private farms, and rose by 0.7% or 25,300 heads to 3,495,100 heads in specialised farms.
The pig population went down by 2.8% or 236,500 heads against August 1, 2010.
Specifically, pig population fell by 3.7% or 96,800 heads in specialised farms, and by 3% or 139,700 heads in private farms.
Earlier in June, the pig population increased by 0.5% or 43,500 heads compared with May, to 8.054 million heads as of July 1.
