Ukraine milk output slides 0.7% in July

July milk production of Ukraine dropped by 0.7% or 8,800 tonnes compared with June, to 1.199 million tonnes, according to the State Statistics Service.

Private farms reduced milk production by 0.2% to 982,700 tonnes, and specialised farms by 3% to 216,400 tonnes.

In July 2011, milk production fell by 2.9% or 35,700 tonnes compared to July 2010.

In January-July 2011, comparing with January-July 2010, milk production decreased by 2.4% or 161,200 tonnes to 6,561,500 tonnes.

Earlier in June, milk production rose by 0.3% or 3,500 tonnes compared to May, to 1,207,900 tonnes.

In 2010, milk production decreased by 3.1% or 355,500 tonnes to 11,254,100 tonnes over-year.
