Vinamilk launches maiden overseas facility in New Zealand

A high-quality milk processing plant valued VND1.58 trillion (US$75.8 million) is officially operated by Vietnam Vietnam Milk Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) and New Zealand-based Miraka Ltd in North Island of New Zealand.

This is the first project of Vinamilk abroad after the company got a license to buy a 19.3% stake of Miraka last year, the media reported Thursday (Aug 25).

The plant has a capacity of 32,000 tonnes of milk powder per year.

Established in 1976, Vinamilk is Vietnam's leading business in the milk processing industry, holding 75% domestic market share.

The company mainly exports its dairy products to the US, France, Canada, Poland, Germany, Middle East and Southeast Asia.
