China Hog: Prices show signs of stabilising (week ended Aug 23, 2021)


Demand for hog remained soft, which was common during summer. Nonetheless, prices showed signs of stabilising in a couple of provinces, namely Henan and Sichuan, even as overall prices of hog moved lower.

With supplies of imported pork plentiful, hog prices are seen soft. However, hog farmers, which are facing losses amid high rearing costs, will be reluctant to negotiate prices.
