Mixed prices, fundamentals
Batavia, NY – In the USA, dairy product prices were mixed this week. We are not picking up a sea-change in market direction for any of the key dairy commodities. The dry whey and milk powder markets have stabilised in the last several weeks on the back of somewhat mixed international demand. Butter and cheese prices have risen outside the USA, but domestically the USA continues to be well-supplied for both products. Without a significant shift in supply or demand – markets are balanced for the time being. The million-dollar question: For how long?
