Russian begins grain purchases
The government of Russia will start grain purchases in the middle or the last 10 days of September, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Alexander Petrikov said.
Speaking at a press-conference in St. Petersburg during the AgroRus international agricultural and industrial fair he pointed out that the forecast for the grain crops this year is 85-90 million tonnes but this figure may rise in the process of the harvest campaign.
It is planned to export up to 23 million tonnes of grain.
