Taiwan purchases 62,000 tonnes of Brazilian corn

Taiwan's Maize Industry Procurement Association bought 62,000 tonnes of corn from Brazil in a tender which closed on Friday (Aug 19), European traders said.

Price was US$352.34 per tonne c&f, traders said. Shipment was scheduled for October 17-31.

The association, formerly known as Taiwan's Members Feed Industry Group (MFIG), had tendered for either 48,300 tonnes of US corn or 62,000 tonnes from Brazil.

The corn traded at 182.98 cents a bushel over the Chicago December corn contract which came to US$352.34 per tonne c&f at the time of the sale, traders said. The seller was CJ International.
