Finland's average cows per farm increase

 

 

Finnish average number of cows per farm has increased to 28, according to Gallup Food and Farm Facts

 

Of the total number of farms, 176 had over 100 cows and they produced 8% of total milk. Gallup forecasts that the total milk volume will remain at 2,215 million litres in Finland in 2011, down 0.3% from 2010.

 

Butter consumption increased by 14.5% in Finland in the first half of 2011 from the first half of 2010. Butter production has increased by 7.5%, while exports have decreased. Imports accounted for 41% of all cheese, compared to 37% in the first half of 2010. Cheese exports decreased, while exports of milk and yoghurt increased.
