ADM to expand grain elevator in Missouri

Archer Daniels Midland Company announced that it will expand its grain elevator in Labelle, Missouri.

ADM will triple its Labelle facility's storage capacity with construction of a 720,000-bushel capacity grain storage bin. The project will also add a new receiving pit, load out, 140,000-bushel wet storage bin and a commercial corn dryer to offer local growers a convenient location to dry corn.

"ADM is expanding our grain storage and transportation capabilities in this area to meet regional growers' need for larger, more efficient grain elevators that offer corn drying and a wide range of services and marketing options for crops," said Joe Taets, president, ADM Grain.

Construction of the elevator has already begun, and some portions of the project should be completed in time for the 2011 harvest.

The ADM facility in Labelle purchases corn, soy and wheat from local growers to supply local and export markets. In the US, ADM operates 191 elevators with an aggregate storage capacity of more than 420 million bushels.
