Bears win tug of war in China methionine market
Prices of methionine moved lower during the week ending August 15.
Demand for poultry feed continued to remain slack while prices of eggs and broilers stayed low. Methionine prices dipped considerably as a result.
Nevertheless, liquid methionine prices remained firm as there was news that Addiseo had halted its operation in Nanjing due to problems in production facilities.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine dropped to the range of RMB27.20-28/kg.
