Western Australia awaits record grain crop
The northern grain growers of Western Australia are expected to deliver a record breaking crop this harvest.
Grain handler CBH Group is expecting farmers in the Geraldton region to break the record 2.6 million tonnes delivered in 2008.
Zone manager Duncan Gray is preparing to open remote receival sites for the masses of grain.
"With the rain that we've had over the past 24-48 hours, we are predicting that we will go very close, if not over, three million tonnes, which puts us under a lot of pressure," Gray said.
