Ukraine's grain stocks increase 19%
The grain stockpiles of Ukraine have risen to 19% against the previous year to 20 million tonnes as of August 1, the state statistics committee said.
Wheat accounted for 14.2 million tonnes of the total, the Kiev-based committee said today in a statement on its website. Barley inventories were 4.2 million tonnes and corn totalled 700,000 tonnes.
Stockpiles of sunflower seeds fell 29% to 400,000 tonnes, according to the statement.
