Kernel Group sees 48-million-tonne grain output
Kernel Group, one of Ukraine's major operators of the sunflower oil market and grain exports, projects Ukraine's 2011 general grain output at the amount of 48 million tonnes and 11-23 million tonnes for oilseed production.
According to the press release of the company, in the current year Ukraine will produce over 21 million tonnes of wheat, 16-17 million tonnes of corn, 1.4 million tonnes of rapeseed, 8 million tonnes of sunflower seed.
At the same time, the weather conditions can correct the final results of corn and sunflower production volumes, which agrarians harvest at the end of August – beginning of September 2011.
According to estimations of Kernel Group, such harvest results in 2011/12 MY will allow to Ukraine to export over 20 million tonnes of grains and three million tonnes of rapeseed and soy.
As a reminder, Kernel Group is the vertically integrated national company, operating in the agro-industrial sector of Ukraine since 1994. The company produces sunflower oil, realizes distribution of bottled sunflower oil through the country, exports of grains and oils, provides storing services for grains and oilseeds at own elevators, and deals with agricultural production.
Previously, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine forecasted the growth of the general grain production in Ukraine in 2011 to the level of 47.4 million tonnes as opposed to 39.3 million tonnes in 2010.
As of August 8, 2011, Ukraine harvested 32.2 million tonnes of early grains and leguminous crops throughout 94% of the planned harvesting areas.
