Ukraine to start exporting pork

Ukraine has unveiled plans to become less dependent on imported pork and pork products, but to become one of its main exporters.

This was stated by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, during a visit to the Dnipropetrovsk region.

According to the Head of Agrarian Policy, Ukraine will start developing pig production. "We must find a new scheme and new growing technology and production of pork meat. This will allow, firstly, to have large amounts of pork and finally move away from dependence on imports, secondly, to increase employment and incomes of the rural population", said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
