German company launches Chess slats for piglets
A German housing manufacturer has introduced a chess slat structure to prevent piglets from slipping on slippery surfaces.
MIK International company launched Chess, developed as a nursery panel for animals up to 60 kg weight. A chessboard patterned slat surface provides better step-safety to the piglets, the company said.
The panel's span width of 800 mm also reduces the number of required support beams.
The Siersahn-based company launched the product after comments from several customers that a solution to slippery slat surfaces was needed.
The product will be showcased in EuroTier in Hanover, Germany, to be held from 11-14 November.
