Lithuania's July milk purchase price slides 2.5%

Lithuania's average natural milk purchase price fell slightly by 2.5% in July compared with June, to LTL869.6 (EUR 252.06; US$356.61) per tonne, the Agriculture Ministry reported on Thursday (Aug 12).

On-year, the average price rose by 15.2% last month, it said.

The total volume of natural milk purchased from farmers last month fell by 0.3% from a year ago, to 135,100 tonnes.

In July the purchase price ranged from LTL819.6 (US$336.1) per tonne paid by Vilkyskiu Pienine to LTL921.2 (US$377.77) paid by Zemaitijos Pienas.
