China Threonine: Buyers stock inventories, prices firm (week ended Aug 9, 2021)



Sales of threonine improved as feed producers stocked depleting inventories amid concerns that the worsening Covid-19 situation in the country and severe floods would disrupt deliveries. Threonine producers stood firm on prices with production limited.


China exported 40,555 tonnes in June 2021.


Demand for threonine should remain stable in the near term as buyers increase stocks. However, the upward scope of the market is limited as the outlook of livestock markets remains bleak.
