Russia reaps over 41-million-tonne grains

 

 

Russian agrarians harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of nearly 14 million ha (32% of the sowing areas), and produced over 41 million tonnes of grains (in 2010 - 38.1 million tonnes).

 

All Federal Districts of the Russian Federation continue harvesting of grains and leguminous crops, declared press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

 

The average yield totalled 29.5 c/ha (in 2010 - 21.3 c/ha, in 2009 - 27.5 c/ha), according to operative data as of August 10, 2011.

 

The Southern Federal District harvested grains throughout the areas of over 5.6 million ha (80% of the sowing areas), and produced over 18.5 million tonnes (in 2010 - 16.7 million tonnes). The average yield totalled 33 c/ha (in 2010 - 30.9 c/ha, in 2009 - 30.3 c/ha).

 

The North Caucasian Federal District harvested grains throughout nearly 2.3 million ha (82% of the sowing areas), and produced over 8.5 million tonnes (in 2010 - 7.4 million tonnes) with the average yield of 37.3 c/ha (in 2010 - 32.4 c/ha, in 2009 - 31.4 c/ha).

 

The Central Federal District harvested grains throughout over 3.3 million ha (45%), and produced over 8.7 million tonnes with the yield of 26 c/ha (in 2010 - 17.9 c/ha).

 

Agrarians of the Volga Federal District harvested grains throughout the areas of over 2.5 million ha (20% of the areas), produced over five million tonnes. The yield totalled 19.8 c/ha (in 2010 - 9.8 c/ha, in 2009 - 18.6 c/ha).

 

The Siberian Federal District harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 861,000 ha (1%), and produced 128,900 tonnes (in 2010 - 4,400 tonnes) with the yield of 15 c/ha (in 2010 - 10.2 c/ha, in 2009 - 14 c/ha).

 

The Far Eastern Federal District harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout 54.7 ha (16% of the areas), and produced 116,400 tonnes (in 2010 - 41,400 tonnes). The yield totalled 21.3 c/ha (in 2010 - 10 c/ha, in 2009 - 17 c/ha).

 

Agrarians of Russia harvested wheat throughout the general areas of nearly 9.5 million ha (37% of the forecast). The production volumes exceeded the level of 30.8 million tonnes (in 2010 - 27.7 million tonnes) with the yield of 32.5 c/ha (in 2010 - 24.1 c/ha, in 2009 - 28.8 c/ha).

 

Agrarians harvested barley throughout nearly 2.3 million ha (29% of the forecast), and produced over 5.9 million tonnes of the grain (in 2010 - 5.4 million tonnes). The average yields totalled 26 c/ha (in 2010 - 18.3 c/ha, in 2009 - 26.1 c/ha).

 

Russia harvested winter and spring rapeseed throughout 161,600 ha (18% of the sowing areas), produced 285,400 tonnes of the oilseed with the yield of 17.7 c/ha (in 2010 - 16.6 c/ha).
