South Korea's beef suppliers violate labelling rules
South Korea's butcher shops and restaurants are still violating the country-of-origin beef labeling rules which have been in place for a month now, the government said Thursday (August 7).
The National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service (NAQS) said that 100 counts of labelling violations have been discovered since July 8.
Furthermore, the NAQS said that butcher shops and restaurants sold imported beef from Australia and New Zealand labelled as locally grown.
Previously, Seoul implemented the labelling rules due to the Korean consumers' concern on the safety of US beef.
