Ukraine completes harvest of early grains

 

 

As of August 8, Ukraine's agrarians harvested early grains throughout 94% of the planned areas, and began harvesting late grains, reported the country's Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

 

According to the announcement, Ukrainian agrarians already harvested early grains and leguminous plants throughout the areas of 10.6 million ha, and produced 32.2 million tonnes of grains. The average yield of these crops in the country totaled 30.4 c/ha against 24.7 c/ha last year.

 

In particular, as of August 8, agricultural enterprises harvested 21.8 million tonnes of wheat throughout 6.4 million ha (95% of the forecast). The average yield of the grain is at 34.2 c/ha against 28.3 c/ha last year.

 

Barley production volumes totaled 9.1 million tonnes throughout 3.6 million ha (96% of the forecast). The average yield of barley totaled 25.5 c/ha as opposed to 21.1 c/ha last year.

 

Besides, Ukraine harvested 1.3 million tonnes of rapeseed throughout 0.77 million ha (90% of the forecast). The average yield totaled 17.3 c/ha against 16.9 c/ha.

 

As a reminder, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food forecasted the growth of grain production in the current year to the level of 47.4 million tonnes against 39.3 million tonnes in 2010.
