Russian 2011 grain yield seen at 91.8 million tonnes
The Analytical Center of CJSC Rusagrotrans raised the prediction of Russia's general grain output in 2011 to 91.8 million tonnes from 90.9 million tonnes, according to its analytical report as of August 3.
In particular, the forecast of wheat production increased to the level of 56.4 million tonnes (previously - 55.8 million tonnes), barley - at the same level of 15.8 million tonnes, maize - increased to 5.76 million tonnes (5.6 million tonnes). Experts expect for the significant growth of grain production in the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts - up to 32.48 million tonnes (in 2010 - 27.25 million tonnes). It is the second maximum figure in the history of post-Soviet Russia (2008 - nearly 37 million tonnes).
Agrarians of the Central Federal District will produce 17.88 million tonnes (in 2010 - 9.7 million tonnes, in 2009 - 21.55 million tonnes), the Volga District - 20.2 million tonnes (in 2010 - 6 55 million tonnes, in 2009 - 21.7 million tonnes), the Siberian District - 14.4 million tonnes (in 2010 - 13.36 million tonnes, in 2009 - 18.35 million tonnes).
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, in 2011 the harvest will reach the level of 85-90 million tonnes (in clean weight). As of August 2, Russian agrarians produced over 34 million tonnes of grains (in bunker weight) throughout the quarter of planned areas.
