Brazil 07-08 soy harvest estimated at 60 million tonnes
Brazil should harvest 60 million tonnes of soy in the 2007-08 crop, the National Commodities Supply Corp, Conab, said Thursday (August 7).
Conab said Brazil should harvest 2.9 percent more than the 2006-07 coy crop.
Conab's last estimate in July was 59.8 million tonnes of soy for the 2007-08 crop.
Brazilian farmers should plant 21.3 million hectares of soy in 2007-08 compared to 20.6 million hectares in 2006-07, said Conab.
Brazil is the No. 2 soy producer behind the US.
