Petit Jean Poultry to close poultry processing facility
Petit Jean Poultry has decided to close its poultry processing facility in Missouri, US.
The facility provides deboning services for large processors and will close by October 4, eliminating about 465 jobs.
The reason for the closure is unknown but reports said that Tyson Foods declined to renew a processing contract with the facility.
Mayor Jerry Hardesty said the facility would still be used for poultry processing if it were to be sold, as the plant cannot be easily adapted for another purpose.
