Russian grain production exceeds 34 million tonnes 

 

 

Russian agrarians reaped grains and leguminous crops throughout 10.8 million hectares (25% of the sowing areas) with output surpassing 34 million tonnes, according to operative information as of August 2, 2011.

 

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the Southern Federal District harvested grains throughout the areas of over 5.2 million hectares (74% of the sowing areas), and produced nearly 17.8 million tonnes. The average yield totalled 33.9 c/ha.

 

The North Caucasian Federal District harvested grains throughout over 2.1 million hectares (77% of the sowing areas), and produced nearly eight million tonnes with an average yield of 37.6 c/ha. The Central Federal District harvested grains throughout over 2.6 mln ha (35%), and produced nearly seven million tonnes with the yield of 26.3 c/ha.

 

Agrarians of the Volga Federal District harvested grains throughout the areas of 796,700 hectares (6% of the areas), produced over 1.2 million tonnes. The yield totalled 15.2 c/ha. The Far Eastern Federal District harvested grains and leguminous crop throughput 30,000 hectares (9% of the areas), and produced 66,500 tonnes. The yield totalled 22.2 c/ha.

 

Agrarians of Russia harvested wheat throughput the areas of nearly 8.2 million hectares (32% of the forecast). The production volumes exceeded the level of 27 million tonnes with the yield of 33.2 c/ha. Agrarians harvested barley throughout over 1.4 million hectares and produced over 3.8 million tonnes of the grain. The average yields totalled 27 c/ha. Russia harvested winter and spring rapeseed throughout 146,400 hectares, produced 268,300 tonnes of the oilseed with the yield of 18.3 c/ha.
