FC Stone pegs 08 US corn at 12.197 billion bushels
 
 
Commodity risk management firm FC Stone on Monday (August 4) estimated the 2008-09 US corn crop at 12.197 billion bushels, with a yield of 154.5 bushels per acre.

 

FC Stone pegged the 2008-09 US soy crop at 2.993 billion bushels, with a yield of 41.5 bushels.

 

The USDA in its July supply and demand report estimated 2008 US corn production at 11.715 billion bushels, with a yield of 148.4 bushels per acre. Soy production was pegged at 3 billion bushels, with a yield of 41.6 bushels.

 

The USDA is scheduled to release its first US corn and soy estimates using field surveys at 8:30 a.m. EDT Aug. 12.

 

In 2007, U.S. corn production was 13.074 billion bushels, with a yield of 151.1 bushels and soy production was 2.585 billion bushels, with a yield of 41.2 bushels.
