To support its rapid international development especially in Asia, Animine has become the only European company to sponsor the international scientific congress Trace Elements in Man and Animals (TEMA) in China.

TEMA is organised every four years in different countries. After Chile in 2007, the 14th edition is held this year in Enshi (Hubei), from September 19-24.

Animine supplies value-added sources of trace minerals for animal nutrition. ZinPot has been designed for incorporation in piglet diets. It is a novel form of zinc oxide, obtained from a patented manufacturing process, with enhanced properties so that it can replace pharmacological dosage of regular zinc oxide.

Some positive effects are measured on digestive health and growth performance of piglets, with reduced excretion of zinc in the environment. ZinPot is a unique powder on the market, with optimal physical features to secure the health of workers, productivity in the premix plants and good homogeneity of the mixing.

The level of contaminants (heavy metals and dioxins) is lower or equal to European maximal values.

Some recent results from Berlin University (Germany) will be presented at TEMA, showing the higher inhibitory effect of ZinPot versus regular zinc oxide on the growth of pathogenic strains of Escherichia coli.
