US soy sale to China cancelled
Private exporters reported the cancellation of a sale of 550,000 tonnes of US soy to China for delivery this marketing year and the sale of the same amount for 2011/12 delivery, said the USDA on Tuesday (Aug 2).
The transactions effectively rolled the sale forward into the new marketing year. The soy marketing year opens each September 1.
By law, exporters are reported to report promptly the sale of 100,000 tonnes or more of a commodity to the same destination in one year. Sales of smaller amounts are reported weekly.
