Almarai builds poultry processing plant with Meyn-Ishida

Almarai, the largest dairy producer in the Gulf region, has ordered Meyn-Ishida to build a wall-to-wall poultry processing facility in Hail, Saudi Arabia, as part of its SAR4-billion (US$1.1-billion) expansion plan into poultry business.

The output capacity of the facility will be 2 x 12,000 birds per hour and consists of 16 weighing and packing lines.

Howard Davis, Almarai's General Manager Poultry Division, said:"Our new factory will produce under our poultry brand name 'Alyoum' which means "today". With Meyn-Ishida we have selected a dedicated business partner who will deliver a fully integrated processing, packing, and packaging solution."

Meyn-Ishida combines the poultry processing expertise of Meyn with the weighing, packing and end-of-line knowhow of Ishida to offer a full range of integrated systems and equipment. Since January 2011, this alliance has been awarded several international contracts, including fully integrated plants in Russia (Valujki and Tambov), Wipasz (Poland) and Chile.
