Russian grain exports may reach 10 million tonnes

Russia will export nearly 10 million tonnes of grains in H2 2011, according to the monitoring of the Ministry of Economic Development on the results of social and economic development within six months of this year.

In July 2011, the volume of grain exports is estimated at the level of 1.7-1.8 million tonnes. On July 1, 2011, Russia resumed the exports of grains. On August 15 last year, the Government of the Russian Federation imposed the grain export ban, due to the fact that the country lost nearly a third of the crop in the drought terms.

According to the forecast of Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, only in the current agricultural year (July 2011 - June 2012) grain exports can reach the level of 20 million tonnes.
