Sofina recalls chicken product
Sofina Foods is recalling its Cooked and Sliced Chicken Pieces as the product may contain egg protein that is undeclared on the label.
Sofina and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) are warning people with allergies to egg protein not to consume the product, as it may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.
The product is sold in 1 kg packages bearing UPC 0 6142300419 8, with Best Before July 14, 18, 22 and August 4, 7, 8, 11 and 14.
Distributed only in Ontario, there are currently no reported illnesses associated with the product.
The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
