Russia's agriculture ministry commends Cherkizovo for charity works
Employees of Cherkizovo Group have received a commendation from Russia's Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region for their work during the pandemic, the company said in late July.
Letters of gratitude were sent to six employees of the Cherkizovo Group, including the head of the department for work with government bodies and public organisations, Anastasia Mikhailova. The ministry noted the long-term and fruitful cooperation with the company, and also expressed gratitude for the organisation of charity activities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This spring, Cherkizovo provided free food assistance to medical workers and low-income residents of the Moscow region. Doctors of several hospitals received 10,000 sausages from the company, and 5,000 more sausages were sent to mothers with many children.
"We are very pleased that the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region noted the contribution of the Cherkizovo team to maintaining the social well-being of physicians, who bear the main burden of the fight against coronavirus, and other residents of the region," said Mikhailova.
"We are proud that during the peak period of the pandemic, our company was able not only to continue to produce products without interruption, but also to provide charitable assistance to those who needed it most."
