Russia keeps raising global grain supplies
Russian export companies are actively increasing the release of grain shipments to the global market, according to APK-Inform Agency's monitoring.
During the period of July 1-22, 2011, the Russian ports shipped 1.3 million tonnes of grains, against 495,700 tonnes in the same period of 2010/11 MY. Turkey (190,100 tonnes) and Egypt (151,800 tonnes) are still the main directions of grain exports. Also, during the reporting period companies-importers from Kenya purchased 68,000 tonnes of Russian grains.
At the same time, the deep-water port of Novorossiysk shipped 440,000 tonnes of wheat, and the port of Rostov-on-Don – 217,900 tonnes of wheat. As a reminder, since July 1, 2011, Russia cancelled the ban on grain exports.
