Ukraine's pig population up 0.5%
In June, Ukraine's pig population rose by 0.5% or 43,500 heads compared with May, to 8,054,500 heads as of July 1.
Pig population increased by 1.6% or 74,200 heads compared to May, to 4,584,700 heads in private farms, and fell by 0.9% or 30,700 heads to 3,469,800 heads in specialized farms.
The pig population decreased by 2.7% or 223,200 heads, against July 1, 2010.
Specifically, pig population fell by 2.9% or 101,900 heads in specialised farms, and by 2.6% or 121,300 heads in private farms.
In May, the pig population rose by 2.3% or 178,900 heads compared with April, to 8,011,000 heads as of June 1.
