Romer Labs analytical services lab in Singapore receives ISO/IEC accreditation

The Singapore Accreditation Authority, Singapore's authority for the independent accreditation of conformity assessment bodies, has recognised that the Romer Labs analytical services laboratory in Singapore has fulfilled the requirements both of SAC-SINGLAS and of the new ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard. These new accreditations further confirm the company's technical competency in the field of mycotoxin testing.

The laboratory is also ISO 17025-accredited and ISO 9001-certified. The new accreditation endorses Romer Labs® in its technical competency to produce valid and reliable results that conform to international standards.

The newer, 2017 edition of ISO/IEC 17025 addresses current industry needs and accounts for the methods and activities of today's laboratories. Substantive changes include a new structure adopted to align it with other existing ISO/IEC conformity assessment standards, such as ISO/IEC 17000. It also adds a risk- and process-based approach that matches those of newer standards such as ISO 9001.

Lee Jiuan Chin, laboratory manager of Romer Labs Singapore, was delighted at this additional recognition: "Obtaining the updated ISO 17025:2017 accreditation reflects both our dedication to good industry laboratory practices and our commitment to food and feed safety."

Romer Labs is celebrating this new accreditation by offering customers two mycotoxin screenings for the price of one until December 2019. For more information, please visit romerlabs.com/en/products/analytical-service/mycotoxins/singapore/
