Ukraine wheat exports fall 55% in 2010/11 season
Ukraine's wheat exports fell 55% to 4.17 million tonnes in the 2010/11 season ending in June, compared to 9.2 million tonnes in 2009/10, analyst UkrAgroConsult said on Friday (Jul 22).
Ukraine exported 806,300 tonnes of wheat in June after the government cancelled restrictions on wheat exports, compared to 72,600 tonnes of wheat in May, according to UkrAgroConsult.
Ukrainian media had earlier reported 12 million tonnes of grains overall exported for the 2010/11 marketing year from July 2010 to June 2011.
