Estonian milk purchase price decreases
The average purchase price of milk in June 2011 was EUR326.63/tonne, 0.7% less than May's amount of EUR329/tonne, according to Statistics Estonia.
In contrast to last June, the average purchase price of milk increased 19% this June.
Dairy enterprises bought 51,300 tonnes of milk from farmers in June, 3% less than this May and 5% more than last June. The milk purchased in June consists of 33,400 tonnes of elite grade, 17,200 tonnes of higher grade and 500 tonnes of first grade milk.
In June, 7,000 tonnes of drinking milk, 2,300 tonnes of cream, 4,100 tonnes of acidified milk, 1,200 tonnes of cheese and 1,400 tonnes of cottage cheese are produced.
