Poultry imports into Russia may fall to 330,000 tonnes next year, while pork imports may come to 350,000 tonnes, according to Prime Minister Vladmir Putin.

Russia will probably consume about 3.5 million tonnes of poultry this year while producing 3.15 million tonnes, Putin said.

Pork consumption and production are estimated at three million and 2.4 million tonnes respectively.

The prime minister said he will approve proposals for meat import quotas by the economy and agriculture ministries.
