World Aquaculture 2023 to be held in Darwin, Australia

The World Aquaculture 2023 (WA2023) Conference, which is organised by the World Aquaculture Society (WAS), the Asia-Pacific chapter of the WAS and Seafood Industry Australia, will be held from May 29 to June 1 next year in Darwin, Australia.

Darwin will be hosting the Australian edition of World Aquaculture for the first time since 2014. This annual event will incorporate the Australasian Aquaculture industry and will see several thousand attendees.

WA2023 will be an opportunity for the international aquaculture community —academics, industry researchers, market and industry analysts, government officials, policy makers and industry representatives — to present their work and exchange ideas and develop a vision for the future of the aquaculture industry as industry players focus on the theme of "Supporting Strength in Aquaculture".

The conference will have an extensive technical programme to showcase the latest developments in the industry. Researchers are welcome to submit abstracts or to create poster presentations as part of the programme. The call for papers will run until February 1, 2023.

WA2023 will offer a chance to gauge the sector's progress, whilst attendees discuss and debate issues, ideas, mechanisms and hands-on practical approaches towards building a better industry.
